The following operations are performed on radial drilling machines:

• drilling holes in solid material,
• drilling and countersinking pre-drilled holes,
• end face countersinking,
• reaming the holes,
• drilling through and blind holes,
• hole countersinking with higher classes of surface cleanliness and accuracy,
• trimming the ends of the bosses to provide a surface perpendicular to the axis of the hole,
• internal threading with taps mainly in medium and large body parts.
   

With the help of special tools and fixtures on radial drilling machines it is possible to bore holes, cut large diameter holes in discs made of sheet material, polish precise holes of cylinders, valves etc..
